Empowerment and Ownership | Management Workforce

Training and Development

We are committed to economic empowerment and demonstrate this at the following levels:

1. One hundred percent (100%) of the employees are PDI.
2. Ownership and management of the business is 100% held by PDI.

SUMMARY EMPLOYMENT EQUITY AND BEE POLICY

(a) Employment Equity Policy <<

We recognise the need to offer opportunities for equal employment and development and
for all persons regardless of race, colour, sex, etc.

It is also recognised that there are certain groupings which have been disadvantaged, and
in this regard, deliberate attention is given to the development of disadvantaged groupings. Various employment equity strategies are employed. The business does not subscribe to tokenism and window dressing, and it approaches employment equity in a sensitive and structured fashion which allows mutual benefit to its individual employees and to the business enterprise.

(b) BEE <<

1. Corporate Cleaning does currently have a formal BEE rating.
2. Corporate Cleaning was recently nominated a finalist at
the uMyezane BEE Awards in the category of “Best black

owned and managed business”.
3. In 2004 Brian Lewis was nominated as entrepreneur

(c) Training and Development <<

Training and development is geared at individuals from disadvantaged groupings with specific emphasis on African Blacks, yet not at the exclusion of other disadvantaged groupings. The purpose of such training and development is twofold:

1. To allow employees to be more effective in their jobs
2. To enable employees in their aspirations for higher levels of job involvement.

Training and development is not done at random, but is focused on specific identified needs to ensure the maximisation of individual growth opportunities.

Corporate Cleaning recently completed a Services SETA training program that is empowering 40 learners in a skills development program for the cleaning industry.

In April 2008 Corporate Cleaning engaged in further training for 30 learners.
